So where does this leave us? Nowhere good. Rayner’s initiative might be well-meaning, but it’s a bureaucratic Band-Aid on a cultural wound. Salek’s fighting the good fight, but he’s outgunned by a system that rewards outrage over reason. Deane’s not entirely wrong about free speech risks, but he’s playing to the cheap seats, and he knows it.
